Smoke Control Dampers

Smoke dampers specifically  are designed to restrict the flow of smoke in a building. They automatically ( with actuators ) shut down during fire and control the movement of smoke within a building when the HVAC system is operational in engineered smoke control systems.

There are two main application for smoke dampers. They simply close and prevent the circulation of air and smoke through a duct in passive smoke control system. Or the system may be designed to control the spread of smoke using walls and floors as barriers and using the building HVAC system and/or dedicated fans to create pressure differences.

ADS-2020-1 Smoke dampers are designed to prevent the spread of smoke within dynamic HVAC system during life safety situations.
